We started as a simple homestead, and somehow one goat turned it into something much bigger. Our mission grew into taking in the unwanted, the neglected, and the overlooked — and showing them just how good life can truly be.

Sometimes that means fostering an animal until they build confidence and are ready for a new home. Other times, it means giving an animal a peaceful retirement right here on the farm. Every situation is different, and we try to meet each animal where they are.

Ness’s Nest Farm and Rescue is run by just the two of us — Vanessa Tapley and Justin Hurlbert. We cover all vet bills, food, and supplies for every foster and rescue out of our own pockets, all while juggling full-time jobs. Because of that, our space is limited, but our commitment is not.

To say this is our passion would be an understatement. Our goal is to take the sad, the scared, and the forgotten, and show them what real living feels like.
